Mothers Day Craft

This Mothers day, get creative with the resources you have around you to make your mom, guardian, or other important figure in your life a special card to celebrate them. I love to use old calendars for collaging so that Is the material I was drawn to for this project but you can choose whatever may be around your house that is calling your name to be repurposed into a card! You’ll then need scissors and a glue stick to make it all come together and, of course, a pen to write your note when you are done. Happy Making!

This mothers day project is inspired by contemporary artist Jim Hodges. Hodges is an instillation artist known for his use of every-day items and delicate collaging out of materials such as flowers, mirrors and jeans. He sure knows how to make the ordinary extraordinary. You can see Jim Hodges impressive works here as well as an image of one of his works below.
